The Joy and Skills of Running Gently

Coach Luis Escobar and Coach Samantha Pruitt are hosting a Trail Camp on March 18, 2012 from 8-10am on Bishop's Peak. This two-hour trail running clinic will begin with a lecture and finish with a coached run. It is open to all levels, and the run portion will break into two pace groups. The lecture will include the following topics: equipment basics, traditional v. minimalist footwear, packaged sport food vs. whole natural foods, running economy and form, and basic trail running techniques.
Starts at Bishops Prak Trailhead off of Patricia in SLO. Please wear running-specific clothes and bring 40oz of fluid.

Luis Escobar lives, works and runs in Santa Maria California. He is a professional photographer, has over ten years of coaching experience and is a member of the Montrail & Mountain Hardwear Ultra Running Team. Luis is the head cross country Coach at St. Joseph High School CIF-SS Division. His personal running journey includes being a top ten finisher of the Badwater 135M Ultramarathon Death Valley to Mt. Whitney, seven-time finisher of the prestigious Western States 100 Mile Endurance Run and a ten-time finisher of the HURT 100 on Oahu, Hawaii.
