Mission statement

We enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible adults. We work with many parents of low to moderate income who need affordable programs for their kids.

 

Brief company history

Founded in 1967, the Boys and Girls Club of the South Coast Area provides over 2,000 children with outstanding after-school, summer camps and instructional sports programs. Offering quality programs at affordable cost. Boys and Girls club provides excellent after-school and summer camp programs along with instructional-based sports leagues in indoor soccer, basketball, baseball and volleyball. Boys & Girls Club has touched tens of thousands of local youth over the past half century. We provide a foundation for the Greater San Clemente region and the values we teach: promoting education; athletics that focus of fair play and sportsmanship; and character development; have served to develop generations of caring and responsible citizens.

 

Brief Owner Bio

Allen Reese, Chief Professional Officer of the Boys and Girls Club of the South Coast Area, holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania, and master’s degrees from Rutgers University in Public Policy and Newman University of Counseling. He has nearly 25 years of management experience in the non-profit sector. The  Boys and Girls Club of the South Coast Area was formed in 1967 and currently employs 25 people. English and Spanish are both available to be spoken.

 

Youth Served

We serve over 1,800 members, ages six to eighteen. We have an average daily attendance of more than 300 kids.

 

Club Facility

Our facility is 25,000 square feet and includes two gymnasiums, teen center, games room, learning center, computer lab, arts and crafts center, T.V. lounge, kitchen, meeting room and offices.

When a child joins the Club, he or she can expect to find FIVE of the things they need most in life: friendship; a clean, safe, and positive environment; variety of quality programs; fair, consistent discipline; and adult role models who care about them and want them to succeed in life.

Open Door Policy

Activities are provided on a drop-in basis allowing members to come and go as they please. The Club is not a day care center and is not responsible for the whereabouts of its members. Parents who want their children to remain at the Club should give their children strict instructions to stay at the Club. Members may attend the Club as often as they wish and remain as long as they like during open hours.
